Steve explores the techniques of pastel painting on a vintage Russian newspaper page mounted to a foam core support. The textured newspaper provides a very receptive surface for the pastel. As well as demonstrating pastel technique Steve discusses his thought processes regarding composition, the use of color, value, line, simplification of form and many other artistic considerations.
