Description
First of a four part series sets up the basic composition for the oil painting. The key goals in this stage of the painting are: filling the space in an attractive way; looking for a theme rather than simply copying; looking at the models attitude and direction of gaze; making design choice with line and value; balancing lights and darks; finding movement and counter movement. Paint application consists of glazing to establish basic forms and values.
